New favorite green juice

We've been on a green juice kick lately. Green smoothies used to be our go-to breakfast, but I havent been in much of a smoothie mood. Thankfully, my kids have happily jumped on the green juice bandwagon and have been asking for more. So, here is our current family favorite:

--1 apple
--1 lime
--handful of spinach
--handful of parsley
--a few sorrel leaves (thanks, Paula!)
--water
--teaspoon of local honey (we are currently using Greentoe Gardens Eight Mile honey)

I love the gorgeous deep green color this combo produces. I was making a mason jar-full and sharing it with the kids, but now I am making one jar for me to drink throughout the morning and one for them with their breakfast. The juice feels much lighter and is much easier on my stomach, leaving me feeling more energetic and less bloated. I think we'll stick with this or awhile and see where it takes us...

Herb shopping!

Today we went to Eastern Market to pick up some herb seedlings for our new yard. I am really looking forward to working in the yard this summer. It is beautiful, almost magical, and full of new surprises blooming daily. This summer I will be planting my herbs in containers by the kitchen porch (which, by the way, is quickly becoming one of my favorite, blissful places!). G and Z helped me to plant two varieties of basil, three types of lavender, cilantro, lemon balm, parsley, and catnip. I have lots of plans for these seedlings!
